Yesterday (Sunday) was a great day in that we saw three additional men appointed as overseers of the Mabelvale church. Wendell Thompson, Paul Word and Ken Sullivan now join with our current elders Roger Horton, Timmon King, Dale Morris, and Gene Sullivan. Please continue to pray for the church at Mabelvale, and for all of our overseers, as we work together in the Kingdom.

Thank you all so much for your thoughtful prayers for Doyce and myself. We are on our way to being well again. Thank you for the kindhearted care of so many caring Christians here at Mabelvale. Thanks for your visits, prayers, food, phone calls, and get well cards. Our prayers were answered that both surgeries went well. Doyce & Lana Tarkington.

There has been some conflict recently in the use of the van, the bus, or the multipurpose room (more than one person wanting to use it at the same time with only one person having reserved it). To avoid these conflicts, please reserve them by contacting Linda in the office during the morning between 9:00 AM and 12:00 Noon, calling her cell phone, or leaving a note on her desk. If you leave a note she will contact you if someone else already has them reserved.

The All Comers Class will meet on Tuesday, October 17, at 10:00 AM in the Adult 2 Classroom. The study will be Topics in the General Epistles. Lesson 6 will be “Faith & Knowledge in 2 Peter.” Dennis Gulledge will teach the class.
