As summer is drawing to a close are looking at resuming All Comers Bible class on September 16th. This will be a short session of ten weeks. We will meet until November 18th the week before Thanksgiving. Please take advantage of this extra opportunity for Bible study. It is an intimate setting with comfortable seating. This gathering generates more freedom of discussion than most classes I teach. It is always refreshing and challenging!
Our study for this session will be open Bible. I have selected the subject of “Paul and His Prayers for the Churches.” I hope that a study like this will help us with our own prayer life. We all feel the need for help in the area of prayer. We will work through a number of Paul’s prayers in such a way as to find direction for our praying today. Could it be that we are better at organizing that agonizing? Better at rebuking than remembering (in prayer)? Better at fellowship than fasting? Better at entertainment than intercession? Better at preaching than at praying?
In a few of these lessons we will step outside the confines of Paul’s prayers for the churches. There will be no handout material, unless the teacher elects to use something for a particular class. If you like to take notes please bring a pen and pad. Otherwise, just bring your Bible for what I hope will be a very enjoyable study. Wayne Brewer will be assisting me in teaching these classes. My thanks to Wayne for his service!
